Oldhammer weekend Mustering the Warbands.

So it seams the second day of the Oldhammer weekend is to see the clash of mighty warbands in the Titanic clash of forces representing the Bloody hand of Khorne and the erm.. sticky? hand of Slaanesh. All across the Oldhammersphere champions are hearing the Clarion call to arms. Have you dedicated yourself to a power yet? What will you say in years to come when small boys ask were you there? Will you retell the deeds of your mighty champion or admit in shameful ripost that, "no to my shame, I was at home watching Andrew Marr instead."

So far the legions  of Khorne have grown with many great champions feeling the Call of blood in their warlike frames. Let me recount their names:

Orlyyg
Zhu
Coop
(and many more as I get round to posting them)

Slaanesh, no doubt adrift on a sensual overload, was slow to start mustering his forces however things are picking up with many hopeful champions taking there weapons in hand...

Gaj
Warlord Paul
Davey
Myself!

And those who are undeclared:

Andy

I know it's early days yet but lets see the colour of your metal, red or pink?

  1. It's over 20 years since I have played WFB but I am still constantly playing WAB, does anyone know how the rules compare? I am sure WAB was based on WFB 3rd edition but not sure. As there is going to be so few miniatures will it sort of be skirmish rules? no unit cohesion? I am really contemplating painting a warband over the summer and coming up from Brum

    1. Its going to be pretty loose. If you want to field models as single troopers or characters you can, if you want to field a unit of models you can. There will be no racial limitations to a unit build either.

So you can field dwarfs, beastmen or even minotaurs all in the same unit if you really wanted to.

  2. WAB was more 4th to 5th. It probably wouldn't hurt to avail yourself of the Slaves to Darkness rules to roll up a champion and warband though they can be a little steep on Ebay. PDFs are available but I wouldn't advise that due to copy right infringement. I'm certain I could roll you up a charecter though, let me know if interested. Then just collect and paint your band up ready to turn up on the day and we'll take care of the rules.

    1. We will do a Lost and the Damned event in the future, if this Oldhammer Weekender is successful enough to warrant a second one! Keep hold of that Nurgle palanquin- I wish I never sold mine!

  6. Jason, Only just saw this.

Bases sizes are set down in the third ed rules but I think in RoC they can be ignored a little. For example many people have human retainers but base them as thugs because those are the models they choose to use.

Humans, goblins etc 20mm. Orcs, thugs, beastmen 25mm. Then 50mm and so on.

Join the blood forum and post your question up, you'll get a full run down then.
